THE STORY SO FAR

James River High Point (JRHP)

Farming is certainly nothing new in Botetourt County and its surrounding areas, but at JRHP, we will combine several different styles of farming to support the needs of the community through organic gardens, microgreens, mushrooms, hemp fiber for building materials, and different strains of hemp for CBD processing year round.  The beauty of growing indoors is that you are not limited to certain months because of the weather.  With hemp fiber, which will be used to make hempcrete, it actually cures faster in the cold weather, which is helpful in creating jobs for all seasons.  â€‹

Education will be our biggest challenge at JRHP.  There is a stigma with cannabis, even though it has been around since the stitching of the first United States flag.  Cannabis plants are one of the most interesting plants we have ever encountered.  Not only do they offer health benefits, but there are strains used to make clothes, hempcrete and vehicles too!

At JRHP, we dream big!  Our goal in the coming years is to build new hempcrete-construction homes along with the traditional CBD products such as tincture oils, lotions, and more.

Meet the Owner

Spring Witt is the majority owner of James River High Point (JRHP) and she is known for doing business a little differently in the Town of Buchanan.  She believes that in a close knit community not only do you have to be willing to offer support to the residents, but you absolutely have to be willing to create a business that attracts travelers, tourists,  river traffic, and the local community.

Spring has built several successful businesses in the Town of Buchanan.  She opened The Witt Stop Restaurant in July of 2018, and recently sold the successful turn-key establishment to another couple in the community.  She also opened the Anchorage House Bed & Breakfast in March of 2019, and switched it over to an annual rental to allow for more time to focus on the growth of JRHP.
